Hello Tournament Anglers,
I hope your keeping safe and having a great Walleye season so far. The bite certainly has been cooperative in both numbers and quality, very exciting as we move closer to our 10th annual, July 18th Sunset Bay Walleye Shootout.
We are very excited and look forward to a safe and exciting tournament this year.
We are extremely impressed with the expanded growth of our sponsors and their participation levels in these unprecedented times. It truly is going to make for a great tournament.
A few note worthy bullet points worth mentioning for quick reference:
1.) We have suspended the The restaurant sign in bonus program. Obviously with the Covid situation shutting them down for the last 4 months and still limiting their business makes it an impossible proposition for them this year. Once they do get reopened and back to normal, please support them as we look forward to bringing that program back next season
2.) We have moved the fish cooler drop off station for the main event (Saturday). My volunteers will still be working hard and doing the transportation for the fleet for the team coolers to the stage. We will provide detailed location and instructions at the Captains meeting.
This was a requirement based on our marina being a state operated facility and their policies
3.) Management of Cabana Sams opted to cancel their on beach concert for Sunday afternoon; which is completely understandable.
Other than those few adjustments, we are a full go; we will be following the state Covid guidelines that will be in place at that time.
The expanded stage and Lund boat opportunity will provide for an extremely exciting weigh-in show.
Our sponsors have really stepped up for our us this year. Our captains meeting prize pack giveaway has grown by leaps and bounds; very impressive.
The entire fleet is still invited to the breakfast on Sunday which is provided at no cost.
The beach, bars and restaurants will also be open to enjoy throughout the weekend.
As always, if you have any questions, or have teams that might be interested in participating in this years event, please have them text me at anytime.
Stay tuned to our website, Facebook page and direct emails and texts for any new updates and announcements.
We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable summer, we look forward to seeing everyone next month.
